As much as we want a better day, we should want to do things the work for it. Here are 3 ideas you can use to make your day go a little more peaceful and even to keep your mind in check throughout the day.
- Setting up your alarm 30 minutes earlier than you’d usually set it.

Waking up super early for work already sucks, but you’re going to have to wake up regardless. Those extra 30 minutes of sleep might feel like it worth it but giving yourself time in the morning before you start your day is way more worth it in the long run. It’s technically a free investment for yourself.
When we’re sleeping too well, we tend to want to make it last longer and hit snooze each time our alarm goes off. It may seem like it worth it for those extra couple minutes of sleep but in reality, were making it worse once we hit that snooze button. Our bodies are already awake once we hear that alarm the first time.

Here’s a study that mentions why snooze doesn’t actually do what you think it is. “Much of the latter part of our sleep cycle is comprised of REM sleep, or dream sleep, which is a restorative sleep state,” Dr. Roth explains. “And so, if you’re hitting snooze, then you’re disrupting that REM sleep.”
Mornings often associate with rushing and bad moods. Maybe because when everyone wakes up, they’re not living for themselves and just going straight to work and living for the “work life” instead. It’s important to put yourself first and take those extra minutes in the morning to yourself. Prepare your mind for the day and make a goal, give the day purpose, or even challenge yourself to something. You’ll have something to look forward to if you do something that’ll help make you overall grow. Only if you REALLY want to change, you will.

- Make time for breakfast.

Yes, not everyone is hungry in the morning, so they don’t eat at all. So technically, you don’t NEED to eat something but that’s probably not the best choice and here’s why. Food is like fuel for our bodies, it’s how we get our energy. So, you might not feel hungry right once you wake up, but you’ll probably feel it in a couple minutes or even an hour. Next, our stomach starts growling and were not able to concentrate on what we’re doing. It makes us feel weak and lazy in the long run. So, in order to feel at our greatest potential throughout the day, we need to fuel our body with the right things instead of just coffee and air.

Here’s a list of foods that are good for a morning meal:
- Oatmeal
- Almond butter
- Eggs
- Greek yogurt
- Papaya
- Berries
- Chia seeds
- Avocado
- Banana
- Oranges
- Apples
- Whole wheat bread
- Smoothies
- Love yourself

The same way we make it a habit to brush our teeth in the morning is the same way we should get in the habit of giving ourselves love through the mirror. Spend just 5 minutes of your morning talking nicely to yourself. You worked hard to get to where you are now. You’ve been through some hard times so take time to appreciate yourself more. Stop degrading yourself just because of one mistake. If you talk to yourself negatively, then you’re going to attract more negativity in your life. Start trusting yourself that you can do whatever you put your mind to. Build your confidence to the highest. Get used to doing hard things so you can feel invincible.
